Drug & Alcohol Assessments
LICADD’s confidential assessment and referral program will pinpoint your needs and help you get professional services that are tailored to your particular circumstances.
An assessment typically consists of one or two confidential one-on-one interviews with one of LICADD’s caring professionals to discuss your patterns of drug and alcohol use, and its effect on your life. This consultation will help you recognize patterns of use that may indicate active addiction and behaviors that may increase your risk for developing serious problems. Most assessments conclude with a referral to preventive services or a substance abuse treatment program that matches your particular needs. We’ll take into account your drug of choice, frequency and duration of use and a few other factors. If you require treatment, we can let you know what type of program would best meet your needs and help you access care right away. LICADD has close working relationships with dozens of local detox and treatment programs, including residential treatment centers, outpatient treatment programs, and hospital inpatient programs for drug addiction and alcoholism. If you’re ready to take action, we can help streamline the process and facilitate your immediate entry into treatment. We can also make recommendations regarding 12-step programs, addiction counselors, support groups and other community resources that can help you experience all the joys of recovery.
LICADD’s assessments can also assist individuals who are concerned about someone else’s use of alcohol and/or other drugs and provide guidance about how to best get help for that person. We’ll gladly meet with parents concerned about their kids, adult children concerned about their parents, spouses and partners, other relatives and friends of individuals who might need our help. Together we’ll come up with a plan for the identified patient struggling with addiction as well as those around them.
